Byron Champlin has fantastic taste in indie music. He seeks out live bands all across New England and doesn’t blink at a late night if it means a good show. He is an accomplished historian and author on local military history. Surprisingly, since his retirement as local grant-maker for Lincoln Financial Group, I’ve seen him at more community conversations and events than one would expect from someone who recently relinquished the obligations of their career. While these might not seem like the most important reasons why you would vote for someone for at-large city councilor, it is indicative of Byron’s investment of time and heart in what he loves. I would venture that the city of Concord is at the top of his list.

As a person under age 40 who is invested in seeing our community thrive, Byron has my full support and vote. He knows that young families and business leaders often want the same thing that people whose families have been here for decades want as well. Byron is a former chairman of the Chamber of Commerce board of directors and has served five years as city councilor for Ward 4. Through these roles he has advocated for affordable housing, mentored young professionals, encouraged business growth, and invested in diversity, the arts and recreation. It doesn’t hurt that Byron is easy to talk to and loves to get coffee.

Please join me in voting for Byron Champlin on March 5.
