On behalf of the Disability Rights Center-N.H., I would like to commend two local developers for their efforts to increase the accessibility of Concord’s Main Street.
Recently, Steve Duprey and Jonathan Chorlian teamed up to renovate the Eagle Hotel building, one of the most historic and iconic buildings in downtown Concord, making it accessible to people with mobility impairments.
For a variety of reasons, the storefront entrance to the Eagle Hotel building was one of a handful of entrances not made accessible as part of Complete Streets, which was completed in 2018.
Happily, Duprey and Chorlian overcame the technical challenges and have redesigned the Eagle Hotel’s entrance to be fully accessible while also preserving the historic look and feel of the property.
Due to this recent renovation, Main Street is more welcoming to people with disabilities than ever before. Duprey and Chorlian’s ongoing efforts to improve the look, livability, and accessibility of Main Street cannot be overstated.
Thank you, Steve Duprey, Jonathan Chorlian, city officials and others who continue to work to make downtown Concord welcoming to all.
