On Thursday, as I was putting my trash and recycling out on Mountain Road, the bin tipped over and I fell over it. As I was trying to get up, a small red car went by and turned around just up the road. Two young men got out and ran across the road to help me.
They were perhaps teenagers, one wearing a Marley T-shirt. They asked if I was okay, then picked up what was spilled and set the bin near the road. This not-so-small act of kindness on their part was so important to me. I called to the two young women in the car and yelled that they picked good guys. They left after I shook their hands thanking them.
I went into my house smiling. As a long-ago teacher of teenagers, I have always appreciated them. Today it was reaffirmed that with such young people as our future, we are in good hands.
Thank you, guys!
