Last week, the commander of the U.S. Marines, Gen. Robert Neller, called Donald Trump’s transfer of funds from the military to fund Trump’s “emergency declaration” of the border wall an “unacceptable risk” to combat readiness. He stated that the money being drained to fund the wall had been slated to be used to repair and upgrade base facilities and that joint training in five countries has been canceled (Marines need training?).

There are a few reasons that I think he would make such a statement. One is plausible. The first is that the highly decorated 44-year veteran of the USMC knows what he is talking about. Another is that he is an agent of a foreign hostile power and that by not funding the wall it will lead to more border crossings of people who want to infiltrate our country to steal high-paying jobs picking lettuce and gutting chickens thus destabilizing our economy and way of life. (The Russians, Chinese and North Koreans are all good at this type of long game.) Lastly, he could be working for the drug cartels, which are tired of bringing drugs in huge quantities through regular ports of entry in air-conditioned tractor trailers and want to go through the desert because it’s so beautiful and walking for miles in 100-degree heat is good exercise. It’s also possible he has bone spurs.

Like I said, one of these is plausible.
