Ward 4 residents considering making a run for City Council can file for office starting Friday and until April 15.

Candidates will face off on June 4 in a special election for the post recently vacated by Byron Champlin, who won an at-large seat on the council last month.

The filing fee is $5. Candidates wishing to file by petition may do so through April 19.

The term for this Ward Four Council seat will expire on December 31. Whoever wins will have to defend their seat in November during the general municipal elections.

The City Clerk’s office is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended hours until 6 p.m. on Thursdays. For more information, contact the clerk’s office by email at cityclerk@concordnh.gov or by phone at 225-8500.
