While the Friday, April 5, front-page article in the Monitor about “Take Back the Night” was informative concerning violence against women, I take issue with the statement that this was the first “Take Back the Night” rally in Concord. Have we all forgotten our past? In the 1970s there were several such rallies in Concord. These included marches down Main Street and a rally in front of the State House, which was attended by large crowds of women and men. It is sad that not only have we forgotten our past but that we still have to protest violence against women. Will the madness ever stop?
