Gov. Chris Sununu doesn’t have a plan on paid family and medical leave. The suggestion he does is one of the biggest myths in New Hampshire politics.
Insurance carriers even provided information to the Sununu administration over a month ago, and Sununu still hasn’t developed a plan or provided any legislative language in response. There is only one plan on paid family and medical leave, and it’s Senate Bill 1.
This is actual legislation that has been worked on for years, and it’s a bipartisan bill sponsored by Sen. Dan Feltes. SB 1 is heading to Gov. Sununu’s desk soon. Hopefully he will put aside his relentless political attacks on Sen. Feltes, take a look at this important bipartisan legislation that helps working families, and at least allow paid family and medical leave to become law without his signature.
