More than two months after a Franklin man was struck by a car on Central Street, state police have identified the man who was allegedly behind the wheel.
Kevin Muzzey, 51 of Webster, turned himself in to police on Tuesday on an arrest warrant for conduct after an accident.
Police say the car involved in the accident, a 2011 Mazda 6, is registered to Muzzey and was discovered when police carried out a search warrant at his Webster home.
Edward Douglas, Jr., 53, of Franklin was found lying in the road after the Feb. 27 incident and was taken to Concord Hospital with serious bodily injuries.
Police determined the car involved was a black Mazda sedan, based on their investigation, which included interviews with witnesses. The car was described to be missing a large piece of the bumper on the passenger side, as well as damage to the passenger-side side-view mirror.
Muzzey was released on personal recognizance Tuesday and is set to appear in Merrimack Superior Court on May 23.
