John Stark Regional High School has a new principal, the school district announced this week.
Gary Dempsey, of Manchester, will assume the role July 1. He spent the last three years as principal of Pelham High School, and has also worked in administration in Manchester and Bedford schools.
Dempsey graduated from the University of New England and earned a Master of Educational Administration degree from Rivier University in Nashua.
Before going into administration, Dempsey spent 13 years in the classroom assisting students with various educational challenges.
“Gary comes to us with a solid administrative background,” said Superintendent Tacconi-Moore. “He impressed everyone with his student-centered focus and we’re excited to have him join our SAU 24 team.”
Dempsey was selected after a search was conducted by a committee of students, faculty and school board members.
