Merrimack Valley grad Kristie Schoffield will be making a return trip to the NCAA Track and Field Championships. Schoffield, a sophomore at Boise State, won her preliminary heat in the 800 meters at the West Regionals in Sacramento, Calif., on Thursday, and then finished second in the quarterfinals on Friday in 2:02.65, a personal best. That result qualified her for the national championships, which will be held in Austin, Texas, in two weeks. Schoffield finished 21st in the 800 at last year’s championship meet to earn Honorable Mention All-American honors.
