The Merrimack County Conservation District will hold its annual dinner today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beech Hill Farm, 107 Beech Hill Road. Tom Curran will present on the Merrimack Wonder, a sweet pepper seed developed at UNH in the 1930s which recently came back from extinction. On Saturday and Sunday, the Lakes Region Kennel Club is again hosting a Scent Work Trial at the Sandwich Fairgrounds. On Sunday, there will also be a Happy Ratters event along with Scent Work. The Lakes Region Junior Dog Club will be selling food both days. Spectators are welcome but the participants kindly ask that you leave your dog at home.
