On Wednesday, Gov. Chris Sununu met with a small group of neurofibromatosis patients and their families at the State House, spending time with attendees to learn how neurofibromatosis has affected them or their loved one. May is national Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month and the governor signed a proclamation declaring May as Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month in New Hampshire.
Canterbury residents Jennine and Mikel LaChapelle and their 4-year-old daughter Willow LaChapelle attended the meeting. Willow has Neurofibromatosis Type 1. Willow’s grandparents, Arlene and Fredrick Herzog of New York, also attended the meeting.
