So, you are opposed to the death penalty. I get it. I really understand your position. However, think about this. Your wife, or your husband, or your child is brutally tortured, raped and killed as they begged for mercy and their lives. How would you feel now? Total forgiveness? Maybe. But for most, justice is foremost on their minds. In almost all cases, justice is a like punishment.
