Banks Chevrolet won the Concord Northeast Majors championship with a 9-8 victory over the Geneia River Bandits. Alex Turant pitched a great game whiel also scoring the game-winning run. Griffin Norwalt blasted a three-run homer and Carl Sirrianna had a two-run single. For the River Bandits, Bronson Ammann had a two-run homer and Noah Staples-Roy had a three-run homer.
Duston Country Club held its Spring Member/Member Tournament on Saturday, with Dawn Jalbert and Lorraine Gagnon topping the Ladies’ Net leaderboard. LeeAnne Bruzga won both the women’s Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin competitions. For the men, Cal Varney and Jeff Hicks had the best gross score, while Brandon MacKenzie and Kyle Jalbert had the best net score. Varney also won Closest to the Pine and Sam Mostue had the Longest Drive.

The Red Sox Green Monster mascots, Wally and Tessie, will accompany the 2018 Boston Red Sox World Series Trophy to Boscawen on June 19. This event sponsored by the Town of Boscawen Old Home Day Committee and Ross Express, will take place at the Winthrop Carter House from noon to 2:30 p.m. Admission is free.

23rd Annual Hawks Baseball Camp will take place on June 24-27 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day. University of New Hampshire field hockey team will be holding two summer camps. Session 1 of the summer camp will be June 30-July 3 and Session 2 will be July 25-28. The summer camp sessions are open to junior high and high school students as of fall 2019. Players of all skill levels are welcome. Each session includes four days of field hockey instruction and a full evening program. The overnight option includes three meals daily and housing in a UNH residence hall. Pass Set Crush volleyball camp is available for girls entering grades 7-9 in the fall of 2019. This is an overnight adventure camp with a concentration in volleyball. The camp is located at Geneva Point Center on Lake Winnipesaukee in Moultonborough. The two sessions are July 7-11 and July 14-18. Plymouth State University women’s volleyball coach Joan Forge directs the camp and the staff features several New Hampshire volleyball coaches and outstanding high school and college players from around the country. In addition to two daily sessions of volleyball, Pass Set Crush offers swimming, boating, yoga, water carnival, campfires, and more. Panther Volleyball Day Camp, hosted by Plymouth State University women’s volleyball coach Joan Forge, will be held on July 22-25. This camp will feature two sessions. Players will have fun while learning the basic fundamental skills, rules and strategies to be successful playing the sport of volleyball. New England Wolves U16 full-season hockey team, coached by former NCAA hockey player Greg Lenti, will include 2-3 practices on ice per week, skill sessions all fall with the Wolves EHL Jr. coaches and director of player development Tim Kunes, competition in the NEPHL and United Tier 1 League, use of Wolves video room and JR Facilities, two workouts a week (minimum) and use of synthetic ice at Wolves training center (465 Province Rd. in Laconia). Hillsboro-Deering High School Spring Sports Award Night will be held on Tuesday from 6-7:30 p.m. in the high school gym. Attendance is required of all spring H-D athletes.
John Stark Spring Sports Awards night for all athletes, parents and family will take place on Wednesday. The evening will start in the cafeteria at 5:30 p.m. for dessert before moving to the gym at 6 p.m. where all teams will be recognized and Sportsmanship and Scholar-Athlete awards will be presented. The evening will conclude with programs moving into individual classrooms for team specific recognition.
NHTI athletic department third annual golf tournament will be at Beaver Meadow on Friday. Cost for a foursome is $500 and includes greens fees, cart and dinner. The tournament is scheduled to be a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. and there will be a silent auction, raffle, closest to the pin, longest drive and many other chances to win prizes. There will also be a second golf event, a nine-hole shotgun start tournament at Loudon Country Club on Aug. 20. Cost is $225 per foursome or $65 per person.
