Kearsarge junior Mya Dube kept up a three-week streak of championships with her biggest one yet – a New England title in the 1,600 meters at Saturday’s 74th New England Interscholastic Track & Field Championship meet.
Dube finished in 4:55.03, winning a battle over Bishop Guertin’s Caroline Fischer (4:56.93) for the second weekend in a row.
Dube bested Fischer by 1.08 seconds at the NHIAA Meet of Champions a week earlier in a blistering 4:53.59, smashing the mark of 5:07.78 she ran to earn the Division III title two weeks ago.
Concord senior Grace Devanny, who broke the New Hampshire 400-meter state record at MOC, finished second in the 400 at New Englands to Danbury, Conn., freshman Alanna Smith.
Smith ran clocked a 55.49, while Devanny finished in 56.29 seconds en route to second place, improving on her third-place finish last year.
Devanny also finished seventh in the 200, up from her 11th-place finish a year ago.
Merrimack Valley’s Sophia Reynolds (12th 3,200), Kearsarge’s Avril Prak (18th 400) and the Coe-Brown girls’ 4×800 (23rd) also competed.
On the boys’ side, Concord’s Forest MacKenzie’s eighth-place finish in the 3,200 was the top local finish.
Teammate Eli Boesch-Dining (10th) and Merrimack Valley’s David Reynolds (12th) weren’t far behind, while the Concord boys’ 4×800 (Fisto Ndayishimiye, Martin O’Sulivan, Eben Bragg and Ryan Devine) finished 10th.
Concord’s Aidan O’Hern (14th), Bow’s Kirpal Demian (15th), Brayden Kearns (21st) and Coe-Brown’s Dawson Dubois (24th) ran in a stacked 1,600-meter race.
Coe-Brown’s Jonathan Thorn (16th shot put), Porter Heigis (18th 800) and 4×800 (23rd), and Concord’s Manny Feliz (18th 110 hurdles) and 4×400 (25th) also competed.
