■The library will host a new mahjong group starting Monday. The library has purchased an American mahjong game, and another person has offered one for people joining the group. The group will meet from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. No experience is necessary, and tiles are provided.
■The Lovers of the Chichester Library will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday in the community room. Stop in and see if this group is for you. The group helps with the book sales, summer reading programs and other events to benefit the library.
■The Board of Selectmen will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the town hall. Abatements will be discussed, as well as other agenda items.
■Wednesday is the last day for school for CCS students. If you are thinking about what your child can do this summer, bring them to the library June 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This is the kickoff for the summer reading program, “Universe of Stories.” There will several stations for kids to visit. It will be held rain or shine. Pick up a list of the activities for the entire summer reading program. There will be prizes and a wonderful event at the end of the program.
■The Agriculture Commission will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
■The Chichester Heritage Commission will host a presentation from Andrew Cushing from the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Grange Hall. He will present “Historic Preservation in NH.” It is free, open to the public and refreshments will be served.
■Trustees of the Trust will meet at 9 a.m. on Friday at the town offices.
■Be at the library at 3 p.m. on Friday for coffee and coloring supplies. It is also an opportunity to relax in the reading room with a newspaper or magazine.
■The Chichester Grange will have a penny sale at the Chichester Methodist Parish Hall, next to the church, from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday. At noon, there will be sandwiches, chips and drinks available for a light luncheon. Parking is free and available across the street.

■Old Home Day Road Race registrations are being accepted now. The Epsom Old Home Day 4-Miler is on August 11. Back on Sept. 11, 2016, the park was hit by a microburst that downed approximately 100 trees. The park remained closed that fall and winter and finally opened again in May 2017. All proceeds from the race will be used for the upkeep and improvement of Webster Park in keeping with the intent of the gift by Mr. Webster 100 years ago. You can either walk 2 milse or run 4 miles. ■Everyone is invited to a Suncook Valley Trails Reconvening Session on Tuesday at the Epsom Central School Gymnasium at 7 p.m. It will be a wrap-up meeting providing an overview of the findings from the five Suncook Valley towns and their meeting participants. Also, at 6 p.m. before the meeting, there will be leading an optional rail trail walk along the nearby Epsom Town-owned rail bed to get a sense of rail trail project possibilities. The group will leave the Water Street parking lot at 6 p.m. sharp for a short walk in light rain or shine. Wear hiking boots, bug spray and proper attire for protection from the elements.
■From July 15 to 26, Epsom swimming lessons will be held at the Pittsfield Town Beach. More information is coming soon.

■Only $1,500 is needed to complete the final phase of the Floral Park Cemetery Fence. Thanks to your generosity, $14,500 has already been collected out of a total of $16,000. ■The flower angels have begun their work, and soon you will see these hanging baskets gracing downtown. Each handmade basket – there are 40 of them – costs approximately $25 to make and plant. A very small group of volunteers do all the work, including daily watering. ■The Pittsfield Youth Workshop is accepting registrations for the Craft Fair at this year’s Suncook Valley Rotary Hot Air Balloon Rally on Aug. 3. This annual event draws 8,000 to 10,000 visitors. ■July 13 is Old Home Day. ■Decorate a tomato cage into a Christmas tree, angel, reindeer or any other holiday decoration and bring it to Drake Field on July 13 by 8:30 p.m., before the fireworks and the public will judge them in a contest for Old Home Day. ■The Old Home Day cook-off this year is Christmas cookies. Bake a batch, 1 to 2 dozen, of your favorite Christmas cookies and deliver them by 9 a.m. on July 13 to Dustin Park at the 4-H booth. ■The Pittsfield Youth Workshop (PYW) has finalized the 2019 summer schedule.
