Authorities say a Henniker man led state and Concord police on a chase through the city before hitting a spike strip on Pleasant Street early Tuesday morning.
Jason McGill, 37, faces several charges after state police say he refused to stop when a trooper tried to pull him over on Interstate 93 North about 1:18 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say McGill was driving a 2009 Nissan Rogue and led the officers onto Interstate 89 North before exiting toward Concord.
The chase continued through several city streets and ended on Langley Parkway after McGill drove over a spike strip police placed on Pleasant Street.
McGill and a passenger – a 24-year-old man from Pembroke who was not charged with a crime – were both taken into custody.
McGill was charged with aggravated DUI, subsequent DUI, disobeying a police officer, reckless operation, operating while habitual offender, possession of controlled drugs, and open container.
He was released on personal recognizance and will be arraigned July 18 in Merrimack County Superior Court.
