World-class athletes are set to wow the crowd with feats of strength and agility when they take to the field at Loon Mountain Resort Sept. 20 to 22 for the 44th New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival. A celebration of the culture and heritage of Scotland where attendees can enjoy Scottish music, dance, food, and fun, this year’s games feature the Scottish Highland Games World Championship in Heavy Athletics, with top competitors traveling to New Hampshire from Scotland and beyond to test their mettle in a variety of strong-man events. Winner of the 2018 New Hampshire Games competition, Chuck Kasson, is expected to compete this year as well. Pageantry, music, dance, traditional Highland skills, beer and whisky tastings, and historical reenactment are all fun components of the festive weekend. Tickets may be obtained online at nhscot.org.
