■Summer Concert at the Town Hall on Aug. 4 from 4 to 6 p.m. with two local rock bands, “Crazy Steve” and “Nobody.” The concert is free and open to the public. The Allenstown Fire Department will provide the refreshments of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, soft drinks and other snacks to enjoy. Parking is on the street, at town hall, or at the Dupont school next door. So pack up your lawn chairs or blankets and be part of this summer concert on the town hall green.
■Armand R. Dupont Middle School in Allenstown is looking for a crossing guard for the 2019-20 school year. The position is located at the crosswalk in front of the church on Main Street. Hours are 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. The pay is $15 a hour and the individual is paid for two hours a day. The district is willing to send the individual to training in August and or work with the Allenstown Police Department to make sure that the person feels confident about the job responsibilities. ■On Friday, come to the Grange at 7:30 p.m. for a program “Space Missions Across Our Solar System.” Presented by Dave McDonald from the Discovery Center. For children and adults. The Summer Reading Program has given kids info on every planet and space missions. Come and explore the big missions and their findings in this interactive presentation. At dusk, kids will be allowed to look through a telescope and see the planets, like Saturn! Refreshments will be served.
■On Saturday, the library will be having a farmer’s market/yard sale to go along with their regular monthly book sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is still time to sign up for a table spot, free of charge – call or stop by the library.
