To make sure our elections are accessible to all, we need to elect a president who will make protecting the right to vote a priority. That’s why I’m supporting Elizabeth Warren and her plan to modernize and secure our elections.
Across the nation, including here in New Hampshire, democracy is under attack from conservative legislatures redrawing districts to choose their voters, as well as foreign actors seeking to undermine trust in our democratic process.
For decades, I and other New Hampshire lawyers have gone to court to fight for what the constitution protects. But there’s only so much we can do. We need to respond at the federal level. Elizabeth’s plan lays out how we can protect our elections, and establishes the right to vote and election security as inextricably intertwined.
Warren’s plan would establish binding federal standards for all federal elections and provide incentives for protecting state and local elections. Her plan would also use the full force of the federal government to protect our elections from interference, both foreign and domestic.
Granite Staters know the integrity of our elections matters. We are first in the nation and need to make sure that our voices are counted fairly and accurately. We cannot have fair and accurate elections while our Republican governor signs laws to restrict who has access to the ballot, or while our election systems remain vulnerable to attacks from foreign adversaries. Warren’s plan would protect the integrity of our elections and every Granite Stater’s right to vote.
