Schools around Concord opened their doors to students this week in waves, with nearly all of them back in session before the Labor Day holiday weekend.
Some, like Shaker Regional and Hopkinton, started on Monday. Bow, Concord and Pembroke schools, along with many others, opened Wednesday.
Statewide, about 80% of districts will be starting before Labor Day this year, nearly the same percentage as last year despite Gov. Chris Sununu’s push to have schools open after the holiday. Legislation to enact a mandate was retained in the Senate Education Committee for reconsideration next year.
Students in Franklin will start the school year Tuesday, Sept. 3.
