Annie Kuster opposes limiting to a single article of impeachment the case against serial lawbreaker Donald J. Trump because Trump has already committed numerous felonies with most but not all of them documented in the Mueller Report. Kuster and her colleagues voted against this article choosing instead to respond to Trump’s racist remarks denigrating four congresswomen by condemning his bigotry in a historic resolution.

Steve Negron (Monitor Opinion, Aug. 3) should be praising Kuster for challenging Trump’s racism, but he not only lacks Kuster’s courage, judiciousness and respect for the rule of law but chooses to lie and smear her for a fictitious “flip flop.”

Mueller concluded that Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election was “illegal and occurred in sweeping and systematic fashion” threatening America’s democracy, an intrusion that the Trump campaign “welcomed.” Negron lacks the integrity to criticize either the Trump campaign’s receptiveness toward Russian meddling or Trump’s total denial of Russia’s election interference.

He won’t even call Trump out for refusing to do his duty of leading the effort against their ongoing interference.

Mueller, contrary to Negron’s claim, cites an extensive record of secret collaborations between the Trump campaign and the Russians. The Mueller Report Volume II, which Negron completely ignores, describes in detail Trump’s attempts of obstructing justice.

Kuster is doing her job while Negron shills for Trump, a white supremacist whose criminality and unfitness for office should be clear to everyone.
