■“Tai Chi for Health” will begin on Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m. at The Andover Community Hub, 157 Main St. The iht-week class, taught by Bill Halacy, former Concord Chief of Police, welcomes beginners as well as those with some tai chi experience. Originally developed for self-defense, tai chi has evolved into a low-impact form of exercise for people of all ages for stress reduction and to improve various health conditions. ■Gentle flow yoga classes are being offered both evenings and mornings at The Andover Community Hub, 157 Main St. With an emphasis on core fitness, flexibility, and reducing stress, the classes welcome both beginners and those with some yoga experience. Classes are held on Wednesday evenings, 5 to 6 p.m., for $44 a month or drop-in for $12 per session, and on Fridays from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m., cost is $10 per session. ■Suppers at the Boscawen Congregational Church, 14 High St., return Saturday. Two entrees, chinese pie and chicken broccoli bake are being served from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Meals include sides, beverage and homemade desserts. Cost for teens and adults is $8, children age 6 to 12 pay $5 and children 5 and under eat for free.

■It is a busy month ahead for the Boscawen Public Library with two special events. Four Shillings Short performs a free Harvest/Equinox Concert on Sept. 23 from 6:30 to 8 pm. It will be held at the Boscawen Town Hall (basement of the Congregational Church). Judy Abbe will present an Introduction to Mindfulness on Sept. 25 at the library beginning at 6:30 p.m. Judy has been a student of mindfulness for over 10 years and will demonstrate the benefits of mindful meditation. Dress comfortably and bring an open mind!

■Patrons of the library can enjoy a fall outing to Squam Lakes Science Center at reduced rates. Pick up your passes or call to reserve them before the center closes Nov. 1.

■The Book Discussion Group at the library will be sharing their feedback on As Bright as Heaven at their meeting Sept. 17 at 2:30 p.m. Extra copies of the novel are available for those who wish to join.

Oney is performed by Gwendoline Quezaire-Pesutti, and this is a N.H. Humanities presentation put on with the historical society at the Elkins Public Library. Free admission and refreshments.

■Canterbury Community Farmers Market is Wednesdays from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the center of the town, at the side of the library. This week is Name That Veggie! Enjoy the fall variety of produce and indulge in a Sandwich Slam, make a delicious sandwich, with suggested donation of $5. Live music from Paul Hubert.

■Elkins Public Library Story House is the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 10 a.m. and Rock ‘n’ Read on the second and fourth Tuesday mornings. Book group resumes Sept. 17.

■Canterbury Elementary School Annual PTO Hot Dog Supper and Open House is Thursday at 5 p.m. Classrooms open between 6 and 7 p.m. The PTO is sponsoring the Scholastic Book Fair during this week, including during the Open Night.

Instruction will be given in how to stretch low back and hips and legs to relieve tightness in these areas. ■On Sept. 15, the Salisbury Historical Society is hosting a concert from 3 to 5 p.m. at town hall on Route 4.

■Library story time will resumes Monday at 10:30 a.m. Picture book The Adventures of Largo & Shelby author Joanne Randall will be visiting to read her book to children Sept. 28 at 10:30 a.m.

■Yoga, Gentle Flow at the library has been discontinued indefinitely for lack of interest.

■ Book Club this month is reading Will’s Red Coat by Tom Ryan. Books are available at the library. The book group of Salisbury Free Library meets the fourth Monday of the month at 7 p.m.

■Salisbury Co-Ed NFL Flag Football is looking for both boys and girls ages 8 through 15 to play fall flag football. This program is open to all children in the surrounding towns. ■The library now has a home delivery service! Any resident of Salisbury with an ongoing condition that prevents the person from coming to the library is eligible. This service is free to patrons of the library. The only charges will be for lost or damaged materials. Deliveries will be made on a monthly basis by a volunteer. Patrons participating in this program can borrow books, audio books, magazines, DVDs and jigsaw puzzles. You can obtain an application to participate by stopping at the library or visiting our website.

■The Salisbury Recreation Committee is looking for donations for ice skates, helmets and hockey sticks. These are for children who do not have equipment to use on the town ice rink. Baseball bats are also welcome. If you have any of these items, contact Mike Broas at 1mbroas@tds.net.

■The farmers market is every Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. at town hall until Sept. 30. At this time they have a few new vendors: DSigns by DS, which is hand-dyed fabrics; RJM Woodworks who makes beautiful wooden spoons and other wood items; Two Pines Farm with vegetables and starter plants; Cutting Farm with honey and maple syrup; Need for Beads with beautiful handmade bead jewelry; Harmony Weaving with handmade woven items; and Over the Hill Farm with jams, jellies and relishes.

■Every Thursday is Cribbage Night at town hall on Route 4. All are welcome and it is always a good time with neighbors.

■At the Salisbury Safety Building, the Fire/Rescue and Explorers meet Tuesdays and Thursday nights. The Fire Auxiliary meets the first Tuesday of the month.

■The town transfer station is open Wednesdays from 2 to 6 p.m. until Oct. 23. The station is open on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please remember to recycle all your glass, no matter the color.

■Salisbury Historical Society’s seasonal display in the meeting house is artifacts and information from the American Revolutionary War through the Vietnam War. Open Sundays, 1 to 4 p.m. Visit salisburyhistoricalsociety.org.

■A senior luncheon for all area senior citizens will be held at the Salisbury Congregational Church located on Route 127 on the first Thursday of every month. Activities begin with a free blood pressure clinic from 11:15 a.m. to noon. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by a time for fun and fellowship. New attendees should call Sandy at 934-3198 to sign up for lunch to be sure there is food for everyone.

■In Salisbury Elementary School PTG news, they are starting their first fundraiser of the year Monday which is coupon books, please be on the lookout for a coupon book in an envelope in your child’s backpack. The coupon books have great deals in them and there is even an app that you may download your coupons onto your smart device. Also, you may sell coupon books to friends and family located in other states as the company will provide books for their area.
