Since elected as Hillsborough County attorney, Michael Conlon has worked diligently to improve the working conditions and functionality of the office.

Recommendations from the Attorney General’s Office tasked him with providing management structure and enhancing policies and procedures, while handling day-to-day operations in order to support his team of employees. In doing so, he discovered that his overworked staff had more than double the workloads of other offices around the state, leading to low morale and difficulty in staff retention.

Subsequently, the ability to communicate with law enforcement and other agencies has severely eroded into a state of crisis. Conlon’s resignation would make a bad situation worse and impede the progress he has made, and would not be beneficial for the people of Hillsborough County.
