Concord’s Taylor Silverstein scored the first goal of the match in the third minute and the Saint Anselm College men’s soccer team went on to a 2-1 win against Roberts Wesleyan College on Wednesday at Melucci Field in Manchester.
The win marks the first time Saint Anselm (2-0) has won back-to-back games since 2015.
The opening goal started with a throw-in from Zach Elliot that Michael Budrewicz redirected to Silverstein, who finished. Silverstein, a sophomore midfielder, is a 2018 Concord High graduate who played in all 15 games for the Hawks last year, including 14 starts.
Budrewicz also assisted on the second goal, which came from Elliot in the 20th minute. Saint Anselm goalkeeper Jacob Rostkowski stopped four shots to earn the shutout win.
