The University of New Hampshire women’s soccer team faced Dartmouth College on Thursday evening, and despite a strong defensive performance, fell late to the Big Green in Hanover, 1-0.
Sophomore goalkeeper Cat Sheppard tied a career-high with six saves in the contest, as the Wildcats kept the Big Green off the board for a large portion of the game despite multiple Dartmouth scoring chances.
After the UNH defense halted several Dartmouth attacks, the Big Green was able to convert on one last rush in the 88th minute with a feed into the box and a shot from Mollie McGorisk that Sheppard couldn’t get enough of to make the clean save.
Both teams tallied just two shots on net in the first half and Dartmouth outshot UNH on net, 5-0, in the second half.
The Wildcats (3-4) return home Sunday for a matchup against the Army West Point Black Knights.
