■Bow Heritage Day is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bow Bog Meeting House. You are invited to come and see Native American artifacts, to enjoy photos of Bow from long ago and to learn about the restoration work done on the Macauley Friendship Quilt. You will be able to buy a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of two quilts, each worth $300, that were hand made by the Bow Quilt Club. There will also be photos of the recent steeple-raising at the Cross Roads Community Church on display and you can find out how you can help to complete this project. Discover a new place to take a hike, hear a reed organ concert and get up close and personal with a Model A Ford, courtesy of the White Mountain Region Chapter of the Model A Ford Club of America. There will be a ham and bean Men’s Club lunch (which will include some of Sue Wheeler’s homemade pies) and much more. The event will conclude with the traditional bell ringing ceremony honoring our deceased residents. Bell ringers are welcome. Come and see what is old and is now new again. ■The Art of Collecting Art, is opening Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Running for two weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a gallery talk on Sunday. The show features a major collection of New Hampshire printmakers. The gallery talk will highlight why collecting art is an art in itself, and how the collectors got started. Located at The House of Art, in the Bates Building at 846 Main St. in Contoocook. The exhibit is provided by Parker Potter and Nancy Jo Chabot. It is free, accessible and appropriate for all ages.

■Twilight tasting is Sept. 26 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. This unique event features restaurants, cafes, caterers and food service providers showcasing their talents by sampling a dish of their choice. The participants are members of the Contoocook, Kearsarge Area, Henniker, and Lake Sunapee Region Chambers of Commerce, who are sponsoring the event. The Twilight Tasting is open to the public with proceeds to benefit the Indian Museum and the Nature Discovery Center. Tickets are $5 for members of the chambers and $10 for the public with proceeds benefiting the museums. Tickets may be purchased the night of the event or at KearsargeChamber.org.
