Patty Connolly received the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Assoication’s Carol Dozibrin Advancement of Girls Sports Award on Monday. Connolly was Hopkinton High’s field hockey coach for 14 years before stepping down after last season. Connolly led the Hawks to two Division III championship games in the last five years, including last year, when Hopkinton lost to Mascoma, 1-0, to finish the season at 14-3.
“Patty was an integral member of our athletic department and had an enormous impact on the lives of many young women here at Hopkinton,” Hopkinton athletic director Dan Meserve said. “She is extremely deserving of this award.”
The NHIAA first gave out the Dozibrin Award in 1996. Its aim is to recognize individuals who have contributed to the development of girls’ athletics at the high school level.
