Fox News should be ashamed of itself for running an “opinion” piece that grossly misstates the impact of global warming. The so-called opinion piece was written by a person whose goal is to mislead people into thinking that global warming is not a problem.
This piece was published by Fox just several days after Hurricane Dorian devastated the Bahamas. Fox had the audacity to publish something that stated: “But the available evidence shows that warming is not dangerous and not likely to be catastrophic.” Tell that to the families of people who died due to the category 5 hurricane in the Bahamas. Tell that to those people who have no place to live because their houses were reduced to rubble or blown into the sea. Storms have become more intense and dangerous as the Earth warms. While people are entitled to their own opinions, they are not entitled to their own facts.
Fox News has lent its strength to a propagandist by allowing this trash to be published under its banner. The statement it allowed to be put out is beyond climate change denial and into outright lies. People who can’t fairly evaluate the evidence of the danger to our future due to our undue reliance on fossil fuels aren’t just blind to reality. They present a danger to all of us on Earth.
