Your editorial headline on Sept. 19 was hyperbole: “Bold actions needed to save the planet.” Wow! Was it designed to frighten naive, uninformed adolescents? Do you believe that actions of democratic governments around the world can actually save the planet?
It is quite possible that global warming is on its way from forces beyond human control. You surely are aware that climate change has been cyclical for thousands if not millions of years.
How many ice ages have we had? How many global warmings? Fossil evidence of subtropical plants has been found just south of the Arctic Circle. And do you believe that political action in democratic countries will terminate the enormous amount of air pollution produced in socialist countries like communist China?
They won’t stop burning coal.
