I am a Monitor subscriber and a state representative for Grafton District 7. As all representatives, I have been struggling with how to deal with the governor’s vetoes of majority-passed legislation. When I saw your headline “Sununu wins all but 1 veto vote” I was saddened by your inability to characterize these actions as more than a game one loses or wins rather than discuss what was won or lost by New Hampshire citizens by this action.

The Legislature does not put out legislation to win or lose in a game but to try to make things better for some or all of New Hampshire citizens.

I believe that these vetoes will hurt many New Hampshire citizens in my district and that’s what I feel should be discussed, not a score card summary of wins and losses.
