My head is spinning. A professional paid investigation that reports accusations of groping, fondling and kissing of minor children, rape, disturbing personal letters to students, deleting files, making students feel special with gifts, lunches, rides home, initiating grooming tactics by gifting a $200 dollar gift card to the parent in question, the district breaking its own policy on teacher behavior; a prominent school district paying three high-level, high-salary employees for “not working”; a miscast assistant superintendent who gets to work for eight years at a high salary in a position she is neither certified for. Holy mackerel – and there is more.
There is the ludicrous notion that this report would not be released to the Concord Monitor, Concord police, employees, parents and citizens. The taxpayers paid for that report. Who the heck is watching the watchers?
It appears the students tried to follow the homeland security campaign slogan from 2010 – “If you see something, say something” – but were rebuffed. You took far too long, worse things happened. You might think about electing a few students onto the board.
We could bring in some rain dancers to get this scandal on track before more chaos ensues and we find ourselves on 48 Hours or the national news. But first, start praying we wrap this up fast, and remember: “Everything secret degenerates, even the administration of justice; nothing is safe that does not show how it can bear discussion and publicity.” – Lord Acton.
