Concord City Interclub Golf held the 2019 Jim Kinhan Memorial Mixed Scotch Tournament on Sunday at Beaver Meadow Golf Course. Glenn Shattuck and Caroline Fang of Beaver Meadow blew away the competition on their home course, shooting a gross score of 69 to win the tournament. Second gross (77) went to Don Gaskell and Lee Denoncourt of Beaver Meadow and Canterbury Woods, and third gross (78) went to two-time defending champions Bob and Karen Landry of Loudon. Rounding out the gross score prize winners were the teams of Jack and Alicia Perry of Pembroke Pines, and Jim Dussault and Chris Friedman of Pembroke Pines and Concord CC, shooting 79 to tie for the fourth-best gross score. Tom Levins and Jen Fletcher of Concord CC and Beaver Meadow shot 62 to win the top net score. Tied for second net (64) were the teams of Dan and Carol Prescott of Beaver Meadow, and Scott and Cherie Sirranna of Pembroke Pines. Finishing tied for fourth net (66) were the teams of Rich and Michele Pisapia of Duston, and Rich Burnham and Marlene Brodeur of Pembroke Pines. Roger Gayer and Diann Balser shot a net score of 67 to earn sixth place.

Hopkintonโs October Booster Meeting will take place on Monday in Room 202 of the high school at 7 p.m. Topics will include Award Nights (middle school will be Oct. 28 and high school will be Nov. 12).
The St. Paulโs School girls hosted their first home race of the season on Saturday. Although 17 of the 21 SPS runners had personal-best times, the girls lost a close race to Deerfield Academy, 29-26, and to Winsor Schoo, 33-22. Caroline Light (21:17) again led SPS, followed by Georgia Alessio (22:00), Kate Taylor (22:06), Margaret MacMillan (22:20) and Bristol Fales-Hill (22:34). Maddie Hammond, Lynn Kang, Isabel Maney and Wendy Sun ran their first 5K. SPS will host Phillips Andover Academy and Dexter Southfield School on Saturday during Family Weekend.
The University of New Hampshire womenโs soccer team defeated the University of Vermont, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon. All three goals came in a five-minute span, as Ally Reynolds and Whitney Wiley scored for the Wildcats (6-5 overall, 2-1 America East).

Rebecca Williams of Penacook ran a 5-kilometer race in 27 minutes, 38.1 seconds to help the Panthers place 15th at the Keene State Invitational on Saturday.
Co-ed Field Hockey Skills clinics are being offered at FieldHouse Sports in Bow. Beginners are encouraged. Next session begins Oct. 17 for grades 3-6. 16th Annual NHTI Basketball Coaching Clinic will be held at the Goldie Crocker Wellness Center on the NHTI campus in Concord on Oct. 20. Registration is $45 if registered by Tuesday, or $60 after that day. Coaching staff of three from the same school/program for $100 on or before Tuesday or for $110 after. Clinic topics include (are subject to change) defense to offense transition, developing offense, post play development, developing defensive core, rules interpretation, defending the pick and roll, and quick hitters. New Hampshire Tackles Hunger, organized by the New Hampshire Food Bank and WMUR-TV sportscaster Jamie Staton, are once again teaming up to help fight hunger during the high school football season. Fans are asked to bring canned food to specific games this fall as part of the state-wide food drive. John Stark rounds out the local drives on Friday for its game in Weare against Pembroke.
Merrimack Valley High School Athletics Hall of Fame golf tournament will be held on Saturday at Loudon Country Club. The cost is $400 per foursome, which includes 18 holes of golf, cart, post-tournament meal and pre-tournament coffee and muffins.
New Hampshire Basketball Coaches Organization will induct six former basketball coaches into their first Hall of Fame class on Oct. 13 at The Red Blazer in Concord. Social hour will start at 1:30 p.m., followed by a buffet luncheon. New Hampshire Legends of Hockey 17th Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Luncheon will be on Oct. 20 at the Grappone Conference Center, in Concord at 11:30 a.m. This yearโs Hall of Fame inductees include Denis Martin, Freddy Meyer and Deron Quint who are being inducted as players; longtime New England College bench boss Tom Carroll is being inducted as a coach; Rod Ross is being inducted in the media category; and the late Downing Potter โDPโ Brown is being inducted posthumously as a builder. Ben Smith will be the keynote speaker. The hockey history of the Alpine Club, which competed in the Granite State Hockey League in the early to mid 60s will also be recognized.
