New Hampshire Sens. Maggie Hassan and Jeanne Shaheen are among the 43 Democratic senators opposed to S.311, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. These senators would let such infant survivors die of neglect or be actively killed.

These very same senators are “bound by oath . . . to support this Constitution of the United States (Article II), which states in Amendment 14: All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges of the citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty or property without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”

These senators’ vote to deny life to a baby born a citizen of the United States seems to me to be a gross dereliction of their duty and a violation of their oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Can we trust such people to legislate justly as our representatives when they despise the law of our land and regard so lightly their own oath of office?
