Every day we have more disturbing news regarding the Concord School District.
At first, it was the Howie Leung sexual assault situation, which school officials did not handle appropriately.
Months later, an investigation was launched. The results are held privately by the Concord School Board. It appears that there was enough information in the report to put Tom Sica and Terri Forsten on a paid administrative leave, or as I call it a paid vacation.
Next we learn that two highly paid administrators do not and have not had the proper credentials for their jobs. At this point there have been no repercussions.
We recently learned that Sica continued to work while on his leave of absence, and it was known by board members and Forsten. Don’t any of them know the meaning of leave of absence?
We have many great teachers in the Concord schools who have successfully taught our children how to read. They are all well aware of the lack of action by school administrators and the school board. What are they learning from these leaders? They are witnessing a school administration that is corrupt and a very shady school board making decisions for their future.
On Nov. 5, voters in Concord will have the opportunity to help the situation by voting in newcomers Gina Cannon, David Parker and Max Schultz.
Also, plan to attend school board meetings and voice your opinions. As Concord taxpayers we are going to be footing the bill for all these mistakes.
