I’d like the people in Hopkinton/Contoocook to know what a great little community they live in. Possibly, they already know it.
In 2000 my husband and I move from Vermont to the little village of Elm Brook. Thirty-six homes and we were lucky to get the last piece of land. We had our home built, and much to my surprise the neighbors stopped by to welcome us and sit on a big rock in our yard.
We had been living on a little mountain and we were far from any neighbors. We learned to love our neighbors and become real good friends. And this wonderful life experience followed us as we went about our business in town. People stopped to talk, to help, to become our friends. Years into our life we both worked for the Hopkinton Police Department. I as administrator to the chief, Fred ACO and traffic cop at the intersection near the Cracker Barrel.
Our governor, John Lynch, was the most welcoming of all. Thank you, Hopkinton, for the great memories.
It’s hard to describe our wonderful life there; you would have to experience it for yourself. The people, place and things all together make Hopkinton the best place to live, work and play in New Hampshire and beyond. My love, respect and thanks go out to all for making our life so pleasant and memorable.
