I don’t get it. The school board has not stated why they decided to terminate Principal Tom Sica. What gives? The good people of Concord have the right to know all the facts.

The report was released on Sept. 23 and the board met two days later, Sept. 25, and voted unanimously to fire Sica. What facts were revealed that motivated every board member to meet just two days later and take action?

I am troubled by the board’s willful secrecy. Our community deserves some detailed answers. Is it the board’s job to protect the reputations of our city’s employees that have acted improperly, if not recklessly?

Hiding behind the shield of “we cannot discuss personnel issues” is an insult to our intelligence. Yes, by all means, protect the innocent people who may have been named in the 100-page report. But I believe it’s time for the school board to “un-circle the wagons” and release the report. After all, the citizens of Concord paid for every word.
