I find it interesting how the facts can vary based on your perspective. In a recent letter to the editor about Vice President Pence’s visit to New Hampshire, the writer states that the vice president was “greeted by a paltry crowd of 75” (Monitor letters, Nov. 12).
I attended the event and had the good fortune of being one of the 200 people who greeted Pence in the hallway outside of Secretary Gardner’s office. The hundreds more people who greeted Pence downstairs and outside the State House were also appreciative of Pence coming to New Hampshire.
From my perspective, having our country’s current and prospective leaders visit our state is a benefit that makes us the envy of many states across the nation. In representing a crowd of several hundred as paltry, it would seem that the perspective of the letter writer is severely jaded, or perhaps it’s just another opportunity to take a swipe at the Trump administration.
