First the city of Concord spends all kinds of money making the downtown a place we want to go. Now they have increased parking meter times and rates enough to discourage many would-be shoppers and diners. To add insult to injury, they now want to install 315 more meters. I am one of those cranky people who won’t feed a meter – so I’ll just get more exercise. But I do know from experience that Short Street, one of the streets designated for the new meters, rarely has many cars parked there – certainly not enough to justify the cost of the meters and meter readers. Seems likely that other designated streets have similar use. Is Mayor Bouley for us or against us?
