EAST SIDEChurch celebrations

■The Concord Grange 322 is in recess until March. An Executive Committee meeting will be held in late January or early February. The Grange accepted six applications for membership. For more information, call Dick Patten at 496-2917.

■The churches on the East Side will be celebrating the third Sunday in Advent with special events.

■Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 180 Loudon Road, will have the following activities this week. Pizza, Sports, and Games will be held today for youth in middle and high school in the church hall from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. There is no cost and friends are welcome. The annual Advent Penance Service will take place today at 1:30 p.m. at Christ the King Parish. Fr. Ray from IHM will be there along with several other priests to hear confessions for the Advent Season. The church is selling fresh cut Christmas trees of all sizes Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The proceeds from the sales will benefit the church’s community service activities.

■East Congregational Church, 51 Mountain Road, is having a special children’s program for the public to attend today at 10 a.m. “One Special Night” will be presented. ■The Friends of the Audi welcome the holidays at the Annual Holiday Gathering tonight at 6 p.m. in the reception lobby. ■At the Capitol Center for the Arts on Dec. 29, see 42nd Street! The performance starts at 12:55 p.m. Tickets cost $15 and $12.

Can Mr. Rogers Save Us All with Lynn Lyons comes to the Bank of N.H. Stage, 16 S. Main St. The genius of Mr. Rogers’s work is what we all need right now to increase joy, kindness, and connections in our families. Lynn Lyons, a Concord psychotherapist in practice for 30 years, comes home to talk about one of her favorite influences. After speaking around the world to thousands of parents, educators, and mental health professionals, Lynn will share with her community how to create more connection and joy with your family and the power of kindness. Children aged 12 and up are welcome. Tickets are free, but a suggested donation of $10 person is asked to raise money for the Junior Service League of Concord benefiting local women and children in crisis.
