The city is adding additional hours for ice skating on weekdays at the Everett Arena to coincide with school holiday vacation schedules.

Public skating hours currently are Sundays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Starting on Dec. 23, ice skating will also be offered from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays – with the exception of Dec. 25 – through January 1.  Weekends will remain unchanged with original Saturday and Sunday hours.

“We wanted to try something new this year,” stated Jeff Bardwell, Arena Properties Manager for the City of Concord. “We think adding these new hours will provide more opportunity for students and families on break to come to the arena to skate and have some fun.”

The additional winter break hours will take place for seven weekday skating sessions. Although the arena will be closed on Christmas, it will be open on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Ice skating season started in mid-September and will continue for the season through March 13, 2020. Admission is $5 (kids ages 3 and under are free) and skate rentals are available if needed for an additional $5 at the arena’s pro shop.
