A girl, Piper Jean Biddle, was the first baby born at Concord Hospital Jan. 1, 2020. Piper was 7 pounds, 13 ounces and 20 inches at birth. Her parents are Lauren and Stephen “Spike” Biddle IV of Barnstead, and she is their first child. Grandparents are Bonnie and Stephen Biddle III and Janet and Chad Whitesell.

Lauren and Stephen Biddle said while they didn’t know the sex of their baby in advance, one thing they were sure of is that it would be a New Year’s baby, and she was.

Lauren Biddle said she was admitted about midnight and Piper was born at 5:31 a.m.

Concord Hospital staff presented the last baby of 2019 and first baby of 2020 with a gift basket including a toy, soap and lotion, blanket and bath towels.
