Such a rosy picture was painted of the new Dunkin’ store in Tooky (Monitor front page, Dec. 28). I’m not a little dismayed that this controversial plan was allowed to go through without public input, as happens in many quaint small towns in New England. Surely my family cannot be the only ones upset that a corporate giant has infiltrated our sweet village, a stone’s throw from the nation’s oldest covered railroad bridge. “I’m a local guy from town and I think that really helped the process,” says the owner, an alternate on the Hopkinton Planning Board. Hmmm.
