The recent article about the opening of T.S. Eliot’s letters sent me back to his work, where I discovered this gem from the end of “Difficulties of a Statesman” written in England in the 1930s.
“We demand a committee, a representative committee, /a committee of investigation / RESIGN RESIGN RESIGN.”
Seems peculiarly appropriate, doesn’t it?
