■The Franklin Opera House presents traditional Irish music, the Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki Trio, on Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m. This dynamic group will present a show full of foot-stompin’ fiddle tunes in the Irish tradition. N.H. native Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki is joined by fellow N.H. talents, Matt Jensen and Chris Noyes. ■Volunteers needed in Franklin and Laconia for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Intake specialists and tax preparers will be expected to complete standards of conduct certification and commit about three to six hours every or every other week from January until early April. ■Kick off the 58th Annual Winter Carnival with a casserole supper Jan. 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Recreational Area Lodge, 266 Flaghole Road. This event is sponsored by the Franklin Outing Club and includes a bonfire and sledding.
