For the third time, the Inter-Lakes Interact Club will be raffling a bob house during the Great Meredith Ice Fishing Derby scheduled for Feb. 8 to 9. The Interact Club is sponsored by the Meredith Rotary Club and is, in essence, a Rotary Club for young adults aged 12 to 18. Interact provide the opportunity for young people to work together in a world of fellowship dedicated to service and international understanding. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 each, or five tickets for $20, from Feb. 7 to 9 at the bob house itself, which will be located in Hesky Park next to the Derby headquarters trailer. The bob house is airplane grade aluminum (painted green) with three large windows. It is insulated and is lightweight 7 by 8 aluminum construction with a quick-release two-inch tow hitch. It can be used for ice fishing or hunting. The kind folks at James C. Farinella Building and Remodeling donated their time to design and build the bob house. In the past five years, Interact Club has donated over $12,000 to charitable activities in the Lakes Region. The proceeds from the 2020 raffle will fund service projects and benefit local and international organizations to help end homelessness, food insecurities, disaster recovery, and to enhance educational opportunities. The winner of the bob house raffle does not need to be present at the Derby to win; we will contact the winner if they are not present.
