Girls’ Basketball

Merrimack 67, Concord 60

Key players: Concord – Ava Woodman (28 points), Ky Buchholz (12 points), Jordyn Lengle (12 points), Megan Cox (rebounding)

Highlights: Both teams were hot from long range, but Merrimack finished the first half on a 4-0 run to lead by two at halftime and led by nine points with two minutes to go in the game. The Tide cut the deficit down to five with 20 seconds left in the game, but couldn’t close the gap any further.

Coach’s quote: “I couldn’t be more proud of our kids. We didn’t have Elizabeth (Blinn) tonight, but every single one of our players stepped up. Ava had a huge night. Jordyn and Ky stepped up again offensively as well. Second chance points hurt us tonight, but Megan Cox and Kayli Daignault worked hard to clean up the glass. Merrimack is undefeated and we took them down to the wire without one of our top scorers and rebounders. Our kids have bought in completely and there is no doubt about the grit they have.” – Concord’s Tim LaTorra
