Kudos to Paul Doscher for his excellent article “Embracing the forest” (Monitor Forum, Jan. 23). I would like to add that more than half the planet’s plant and animal species live in forests, and that we are destroying forested areas equal to half the size of Florida every year. We need to change our attitudes, as Doscher recommends.
