Our family moved into the Sunapee School District a few years ago, but we have lived in Sullivan County since 2003. Plain and simple, we moved to Sunapee because of the schools and because of the people we are lucky enough to call friends. It’s the best decision we’ve ever made.

Our daughter, in eighth grade, and our son, in first grade, are flourishing in the Sunapee school system.

Sunapee is special. It’s not something that can easily be put into words. It’s a stadium full of neighbors who drive for hours to watch the state soccer championships. It’s older kids helping younger kids learn to play basketball. It’s classmates supporting one another. It’s how effortlessly these kids speak up for others, and challenge all of us to be better and do better.

We would vote yes for Sunapee schools (Article 3) even if we didn’t have children in the school system. The tax increase on a home with an assessed value of $300,000 would amount to just over $50 a month, and under $10,000 total over the next 15 years. Our home value would decrease by much more if we were to lose our Pre-K through 12 model.

We have a top school district in our back yard. Families are moving to our town because of the school. Enrollment is climbing. We are not willing to jeopardize the future of our children and our community to save $50 a month. We will choose Sunapee again on March 10.
