A Merrimack County grand jury has indicted a Pembroke man on dozens of charges accusing him of possessing images of children being sexually abused.

Erik Bjork, 37, faces 69 counts of possession of child sexual abuse images in Merrimack County Superior Court in Concord, Pembroke police said Thursday.

Police arrested Bjork at his Kimball Street home in November, where they executed a search warrant in connection with aย months-long investigation.ย

Pembroke Police Chief Dwayne Gilman said in a statement Thursday afternoon that authorities identified approximately 900 files depicting child sexual abuse in Bjorkโ€™s possession. Bjork made the images and videos available on a peer-to-peer internet file-sharing network, Gilman said.

โ€œInvestigating officers believe the majority of the children depicted are betweenย the ages of 1 and 8 years old,โ€ he said.

New Hampshireโ€™s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the Department of Homeland Security, and law enforcement from Allenstown, Portsmouth, Merrimack and New Hampshire State Police have assisted Pembroke with this case.

Bjork remains incarcerated.
